In honor of our 5th Anniversary of the 5K Race for the Nation, NOVA will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Stay tuned as the race nears for more information on how we will celebrate this event and our veterans contribution to our freedom.  Keep your eyes and ears open for our special guests!

  1. Running is FUN. Obviously! Nobody just chooses to squeeze in a small pair of shorts, endure bodily pain, and sweat like a cold Coke bottle for nothing.  Runners love what they do!  It is a passion!
  2. Running is good for you…physically and mentally!  Whether you are a pro, or just a novice looking to challenge yourself, you are benefiting from this race.
  3. Runners are good looking people! Check out our race photos from last year for yourself.
  4. We are a wonderful group of people committed to making this the best event we can.
  5. You certainly would not have any other plans on August 4th and chance missing this event.

So yes, these are pretty obvious reasons.  In all seriousness, the biggest reason to attend the 5k Race for the Nation is that it is for a great cause and it is unlike the majority of 5K races you have participated in in terms of organization, door prizes, DJ, Refreshments and Awards.

We pride ourselves on making the 5K Race for the Nation your best experience of the summer in terms of road races. We continue to track feedback from our participants via surveys and other social mediums to make sure that we are taking all ideas and suggestions into consideration to continually improve our event.

Thank you to all runners and event sponsors who helped to make our 2011 race successful. Race results have been posted to the site. Work is underway in planning for our 2012 race which is now scheduled for Saturday, August 4th 2012 in Chambersburg, PA! If you are interested in sponsoring the 2012 race or volunteering to help, stay tuned for more information. Throughout the course of this year, your feedback will be critical to the continuous improvement of this event. We hope to see this race grow substantially each year.

With your participation, we were able to raise almost $5,000 which will benefit the Chambersburg Steelers Youth League Football Team and also Navajo Students on the Reservation pursuing degrees in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering. Thank you again for that.
